University Senate member decries alleged malfeasance at the University of Ottawa -- Three latest posts at Student-s-Eye-View
One of the few University of Ottawa senate members to consistently practice collegial governance by opposing the president Allan Rock "executive rule" era is physics graduate student Joseph Hickey.
Hickey documents his efforts to impose ethical behaviour on the Rock administration on his blog about senate: "A Student's-Eye View".
His three latest (September 11, 2011) blog posts are particularly hard hitting:::
Executive rule v. collegial governance... It's like there is too much stuff...! More bloggers are needed.

I have attented approximately 6 Senate meetings as an observer, and have witnessed Mr. Hickey in action on every occasion. I am not sure what you are referring to, Mr. Rancourt, as I did not see you in the audience. But what I saw with my own eyes was NOT someone trying to implement "ethics" into the administration of this unversity or in the mannet in which senate meetings occur. I saw someone trying to circumvent and disrupt process for his own personal agenda, without regard for every other person in the room and for every other important issue on the agenda. Please explain how this form of behaviour is ethical? That is the very last word I would have used to describe his antics.
@Wilfrid,
Well, Wilfrid, if what you say were true then I would conclude that Senate Chair Allan Rock is delinquent in his duties by not bringing Mr. Hickey to order and by letting the Senate be degraded to this degree.
All full Senate meetings are filmed and the videos are posted by the University, so readers can decide for themselves without needing to depend on anonymous wilfrids.
